Just curious: Who's your favorite singer or band from the Eighties?

The 80's was a great musical era! There's no way I could choose one artist or band and say that's it.

I can't think of a single most favorite artist from that time, but some of my favorites that I listen to, (and this isn't in any order), are The Carrs, Quiet Riot, Prince, Heart, and Pat Benetar. My favorite from those is Heart.

OMG Several of those rank in my favorites of the 80's! I love love love U-2. I saw the Elivation tour on tv and that was disappointing - I didn't think they sounded as good as I thought they would live. However, that hasn't changed how much I like their music. Also, I really have a fondness for The Cars, Pat Benetar, Prince, and the hits of Heart.

Oh, and how about Madonna. I'm not to keen on anything she's made past her 1998 album Ray of Light. But that album as well as her 80's stuff is great imo.

Kim Wilde, Kim Carns .. and I liked one song of culture club and Boy george. Yes, it sounds strange to some of you but I like it. "do you really want to hurt me" ... it is just so sad.

On the harder side, Maiden, Scorpions, Def Leppard, Motley Crue, Poison, Guns N Roses, Metallica, Megadeth, Tesla... I could go on and on, lol! On the softer side, Laura Branigan, Madonna, Heart, Pat Benetar, Blondie, Extreme, Michael and Janet Jackson, Billy Joel, Journey... I was born in 1983, so I was exposed to A LOT of 80's music!

Yeah! You go! Props to eighties metal! Yeah! And I also think Jurney are really good! I love Kansas as well but they are from the seventies technically.
